Healthy Recipe
This quick, easy healthy recipe of herb-baked tomatoes will add something special to your 4th of July recipe collection.
This tomato recipe is fairly rich so you will need to serve it with
some plainly cooked meat or fish. Alternatively, it is an ideal vegetarian recipe.
4th Of July Recipe - Herb
Baked Tomatoes
Preparation Time: 10 minutes
Cooking Time: 15 minutes
Serves 4:
450g (1 lb) firm tomatoes
1 tbsp plain flour
Salt and papper to taste
25g (1 oz) butter
1 garlic clove, crushed
75 ml (3 fl oz) single cream
1 tbsp chopped fresh basil
1 tbsp chopped fresh parsley
Preparation
Heat oven to 180C (350F/Gas 4). Cut tomatoes in half and put into a shallow ovenproof dish
Sprinkle tomatoes with flour, salt and pepper. Dot with butter and garlic. Pour cream over
Sprinkle with basil and parsley. Cook in oven for 15-20 mins
